Biography

With over 18 years of experience, Michael Tieff drafts electrical and software patent applications and advises clients, including start-ups, solo inventors and Fortune 500 companies. His particular expertise focuses on patent procurement in software, circuits, telecommunications and business methods. Michael has experience with drafting patents in numerous technologies, including artificial intelligence, augmented reality, cloud computing, cryptography, distributed home audio and video, document segmentation, facial recognition, femto cells, GPU scheduling, graphs and shortest path computing, maps and mapping applications, mobile devices, IoT, multi-device user interfaces, NFC, optical waveguides, P2P networking, signal processing (LTE and GSM), social networking, video and audio codecs, and WiFi. Michael additionally prosecutes U.S. and foreign utility patent applications related to autonomous vehicles.

Michael performs product clearance searches, due diligence and patent analysis related to company purchases and M&A. He also has experience in pre-litigation support, including infringement and prior art analyses and drafting of expert reports.
