Chemical Patent Associate/Agent

Job Description

The associate/patent agent will prepare and prosecute patent applications for clients in the chemical industry, including corporations, universities, and research institutions. The associate/patent agent will have experience in and/or interest in pharmaceutical/small molecule prosecution work.

This position will perform tasks related to patent prosecution, including:

• drafting patent applications,
• preparing responses to office actions,
• arranging for patentability, infringement, and validity searches, and
• portfolio management.

Must be a registered with the USPTO and have 3+ years of experience in patent drafting.

Advanced degree (PhD) in chemistry or a related area is required, with a preference for organic chemistry.
