Job Description
Interested in a career in patent law and patents? MCC is hiring an entry-level scientific advisor. The employee will receive training in (i) performing technical and legal analyses on clients’ inventions using engineering and scientific knowledge in various engineering disciplines, for example, AI, computer software, advanced integrated circuits, engineering design, manufacturing, communication systems, physics, medical devices, optics and computational modeling; (ii) preparing technical and scientific written description and drawings of inventions for patent applications, covering and expanding on technical supporting materials provided by the inventors; and (iii) assist with the preparation of prosecuting documents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including answers to the U.S. Patent Office’s review of the patent applications.
Candidates must have the following:
- Passion for technology and a genuine interest in patent law
- Highly proficient research skills and demonstrated analytical ability
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and follow-up skills
- Strong initiative and proactive in working with others
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics or Applied Physics.
