Aleta Mills-Stubin

Biography

Aleta Mills-Stubin focuses on patent litigation, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, patent opinions, and prosecution matters involving mechanical, medical device, and consumer product technologies. She also counsels clients on trademark clearance and prosecution.

Aleta began her legal career at Kilpatrick, where she gained broad and rigorous experience across the full range of patent prosecution, litigation, and counseling. She later served as Of Counsel at 360 Venture Law, advising early-stage and growing companies on developing, protecting, and leveraging their intellectual property assets.

Prior to returning to private practice, Aleta spent 14 years leading business operations for a consumer electronics and mobile accessory sales representation firm. In that role, she negotiated commercial agreements, managed budgets and vendor relationships, and oversaw the operational needs of a growing business. This experience provides her with a practical understanding of the commercial considerations that shape clients’ business decisions and intellectual property strategies.

Known for a calm and steady approach under pressure, Aleta works methodically through complex matters and looming deadlines, developing clear plans and keeping clients’ business objectives at the forefront. She brings a combination of legal experience, business acumen, and practical problem-solving to every engagement.

Outside of work, Aleta is active in Atlanta’s nonprofit community, including serving on a focus area committee for Impact100 Atlanta and volunteering with Furnish with Love. She also has a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals with autism and other special needs. From 2012 to 2016, she founded and directed Running Mates, a nonprofit organization serving children with developmental and sensory needs.
