Larry's practice emphasizes patent prosecution, focusing on the fields of electrical engineering and computer science. He has substantial experience in patent procurement, portfolio management, and client counseling.

Larry has participated in all phases of patent prosecution, including conducting initial inventor disclosure meetings, drafting applications, responding to office actions, and preparing appeal briefs. He has advised clients, from startups to major corporations, in all aspects of intellectual property. He has prosecuted applications related to integrated circuits, computer hardware and software, telecommunications (cellular, POTS and AIN), cable television systems, computer networking and distributed applications and gaming consoles. Larry has significant experience in reissue practice and reexamination proceedings.

Larry has been lead counsel in Interference proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Appeals and Interferences, and represented Toyoda Automatic Loom Works in Linear Technology Corporation v. Impala Linear Corporation, et al., Case No. C-98-1727 VRW (N.D. Cal.) and ABB, Inc. in ABB Automation, Inc. v. Schlumberger Resource Management Services, Inc., Civil Action No. 01-077 SLR (D. Del). Larry testified in court on behalf of DISH Networks in Tivo Inc., v. Echostar Communications Corp., Case No. 2-04CV-01 in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Additional legal experience includes having served as an in-house counsel for Motorola Inc.'s Broadband Communications Sector, where he provided a wide range of IP legal services to its Digital Network Systems and Internet Protocol Systems strategic business units (2000-2001). The business units designed and manufactured cable headend equipment, digital and analog set tops, and equipment for Voice-over-IP communications. His patent-related work encompassed licensing, patent prosecution management, evaluation of invention disclosures for domestic and foreign filing, and patent litigation support.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Larry gained technical experience serving as a systems engineer at General Electric Government Services, where he analyzed and drafted requirements of space-based communications systems. Larry wrote, tested and deployed client-server based waveform analysis software to calculate communication signal parameters for space-to-space and space-to-ground transmissions. The software modeled such parameters as modulation type, coding rate, interleaver type and atmospheric effects. His technical background includes extensive programming experience in several programming languages on platforms including Linux, UNIX-based client-server networks, and IBM PCs. Mr. Aaronson has extensive knowledge of most computer operating systems, computer networks and protocols, and telecommunications and broadband communication networks.
