Meredith’s practice focuses on obtaining valuable patent protection in the US and abroad for clients and providing thoughtful and insightful counseling regarding non-infringement and invalidity of third party owned patents for mechanical, electro-mechanical, and medical device technologies. Meredith has prosecuted families of design patents before the USPTO, as well as directed prosecution in foreign countries. She has extensive experience in building and managing domestic and global patent portfolios in a variety of technology areas, including automotive safety systems, motors and generators, electrical connectors, EV technology, fluid flow systems, construction systems and building materials, medical devices, consumer products, textiles, and fastening systems. She also advocates for sensible and progressive US patent policy.
Investing in the success of others is very important to her. She has a strong commitment to mentoring and serving underrepresented groups in IP law and the STEM fields, fostering connections and encouraging them to channel their strengths, use their voices, and reach their goals. In addition to mentoring, she educates organizations about the value of diversity and helps them to adopt policies and practices that increase the advancement of underrepresented groups. She also advises and serves on boards and committees dedicated to the inclusion, participation, and advancement of underrepresented groups in IP law and technology. She further channels her passion for creating diversity among future inventors by coaching an Odyssey of the Mind team at her children’s school.
